Stewards inside the Luzhniki Stadium went into action during the second 45 minutes of Sunday’s showdown between France and Croatia.

And that was the highly embarrassing scenario as nothing less than four individuals ran onto the pitch during the final.

The four people actually wore black trousers with white shirts and black ties, seemingly the uniform of Russian police officers.

Meanwhile, the quartet of pitch invaders came from behind the goal-post of Tottenham Hotspur goalie and France skipper, Hugo Lloris.

Referee Nestor Pitana duly halted the match while stewards chased out the invaders with Russian president, Vladimir Putin right there.

And immediately after the disappointing incident, though, Pussy Riot went ahead to post an official lengthy message on social media.

The post the group made on social media also came with a whole lot of demands for the Russian government.

These requests included the release of political prisoners, stopping “illegal arrests at protests” and permitting “political competition in the country”.

Pussy Riot have, meanwhile, organized out a host of political stunts which always criticize the Russian government in recent times.

The Vatreni were actually losing 2-1 to Les Bleus and searching for an equalizing goal during the final on Sunday.

But out of nowhere, four individuals who dressed as security personnel took to the pitch while forcing proceedings to stop.

One of the intruders tried to give Lovren a high-five but rather saw the centre-half throwing him to the floor.

Pussy Riot accept responsibility for World Cup final pitch invasion

“I really was mad because we were playing then in good shape,” the Daily Mail quotes the 29-year-old as saying.

“We had been playing good football and then, some interruption came and I just lost my head.

“And I then grabbed the guy and I wished I could throw him away from the stadium,” he summed up.

The four individuals have received a jail-term of 15 days for their actions after a ruling by a Moscow court.
