The forward has so far spent the entirety of his playing career to date rotating between both midfield and attack.

But he has now gone ahead to show his future is as a top goal-scorer, performing well as a hit-man.

While being technically sound in the air and also on the ground, Moura has scored three goals with an assist.

Moura said: “It has all stemmed from our pre-season, it has been the best pre-season I have had so far.

“It has also been the hardest and the style of play the gaffer gives and educates us with is obviously showing.

“The style of play with the ball, without the ball, our fitness and off the pitch as well.

“Every day, he is educating us on how to be better people as well.

“I feel like I can express myself a bit more, I am playing in a position where I like.

“That is one in which I can show what I can actually do.

“And also, the team plays to my strengths as well and also to everyone else’s strengths.

“We are not doing something that we are not capable of doing,” the centre-forward summed up.

Moura expresses delight with award

Lucas Moura has further expressed his delight at picking up the EA SPORTS Player of the Month prize for August.

“It is difficult to explain what I am feeling,” Lucas said holding the award.

“I am so happy because I know it is not easy to win this trophy.

“Furthermore, I waited a lot for this moment and I need to enjoy and to keep working.

“And that is simply because I believe that I have much more that will come,” the Brazilian international said.

It is the 22nd time a Lilywhite has scooped the gong and the fourth time for a Brazilian football player.
