Manchester United chief coach, Jose Mourinho has restated his belief in new summer recruit, Fred to improve the club’s midfield.
That is aftermath of the Portuguese tactician expressing his delight following the arrival of the Brazilian international at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils manager has stated in very clear terms that the £50m summer signing will “complement” United’s current midfielders.
“Fred will complement our other midfielders’ qualities which we need.
“His creative brain and passing vision will give us another dimension to our game,” Mourinho informed the club’s official website.
“I am very happy he is joining our club this very summer transfer window.
“And I believe very strongly that all of our players know how important he can be in our team.” The former Chelsea boss summed up.
Fred finally completes £50m United switch
Brazilian international attacking midfielder, Fred has finally completed his switch which is in the region of £50m to Manchester United.
The Red Devils have made an official confirmation that the 25-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
And that is in the wake of the very skillful star and master dribbler having successfully undergone a medical.
“This is the biggest club in the world and I have delight to be a part of this amazing team.
“To work with Jose Mourinho who has won so many trophies in his time as a coach is an opportunity I cannot miss.” Fred disclosed to the club’s website.
“I cannot wait to start playing for United and to meet my new team-mates.
“Furthermore, I want to thank everyone at Shakhtar for everything they have done for me over the past five years.” The South American summed up.
On the other hand, United have gone ahead to officially confirm reaching a deal with Shakhtar for Fred this summer.
The Red Devils made a formal announcement last week they had reached a deal of £50m with Shakhtar to sign Fred.
Earlier reports had dropped a hint the Red Devils wanted to pay in the region of £50m for the Brazilian.
Despite that, though, the Premier League giants are yet to officially reveal the full details of the transfer in public.
“Manchester United has great delight to announce it has reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk.
“And that is for the transfer of Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos,” a statement read on the official United website.
“A further announcement will be out in due course,” the statement summed up.
He found the net four times while making seven assists in 37 overall matches for Shakhtar during the 2017/18 season.
