United went behind following a strike from Ronaldo but a Juan Mata free kick and an own goal secured victory.

The late fightback eventually saw the visitors seal a remarkable 2-1 win in Wednesday’s Champions League group stage encounter.

“I have seen the replay in the dressing room,” Ronaldo disclosed to Viasat.

“However, I did not realize that it was a fantastic goal which I had scores.

“But I did a good movement and I kicked with the ball strong.

“I was happy for the goal but we have a little bit of disappointment.

“And that is simply because we should have won the game easily by three or four goals.

“Manchester, they did not do much in my opinion, they created only two goal-scoring chances, set pieces.

“I know the English teams as they are always looking for the set pieces.

“But we will surely learn from our mistakes and we are still top of the group, so we are good.” He concluded.

Mourinho expresses pride with United win over Juve

Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has expressed his pride with his players after their slim Champions League win over Juventus.

He has further admitted that he has delight with his side’s 2-1 victory against the Bianconeri in the Champions League.

United went behind following a Cristiano Ronaldo strike but a Juan Mata free kick and an own goal secured victory.

Mourinho has played down cupping his ear to the Juve fans at the full-time whistle.

And that is by the vastly experienced coach saying that he “respects” the Italian Serie A giants.

The 55-year-old disclosed to BT Sport: “On a beautiful Italian day, I made a little thing.

“I know millions are happy with the win but I respect Juventus and the quality they have.

“But I can tell you that I am really proud of my boys because they did everything.

“We had to come and not feel inferior, we were in a tight situation.

“And that is the one where we thought that we needed to go to the last second of the match.

“The boys started really well and things were under control.

“Juventus have phenomenal players and that Cristiano Ronaldo goal was beautiful.

“And the player [Leonardo Bonucci] that made that beautiful pass is a central defender.

“They are a fantastic team with an amazing record at home,” he summed up.

United are second in Group H with two matches more to prosecute.
