Serie A giants Lazio have officially announced the signing of KV Oostende forward Adam Marusic and is due to arrive for the cub’s pre-season.
The Montenegro international right- winger who signed a five-year contract with the Aquile passed his medicals.
The 24-year-old arrived in Italy capital this week to finalize his deal for an undisclosed fee.
“SS Lazio announce the purchase on a permanent basis of the player Adam Marusic from Oostende,” read a statement.
“The athlete has signed a five-year contract.”
His agent has also confirmed the transfer while speaking to the media at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade on Friday evening .
“The contract with the Biancocelesti will be signed after medical exams. Adam will be the first ever Montenegro international at Lazio,” Uros Jankovic told Sportski Zurnal.
Marusic managed 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 40 competitive games for KV Oostende last term.
The midfielder’s versatility makes him perfect to play both in the right-sided wing as well as in the right-back or on the left.
Although born in Belgrade, Marusic accepted to represent Montenegro at international level, and has gone to be capped 15 times by the senior national team since getting his call-up in 2015.
He has been a regular starter in all of Montenegro’s six fixtures in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
He is expectedly have no problems settling at Stadio Olimpico in terms of language as Serbian footballers Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Dusan Basta and Flip Djordjevic all play for Lazio.
He is a graduate of Vozdovac youth academy and signed his professional contract in 2010.
